Legal counsel to former President Akufo-Addo, Kow Essuman, has criticized President Mahama’s continued use of his brother Ibrahim Mahama’s private jet, questioning the silence of Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on the matter.

Essuman pointed out that Ablakwa, who previously criticized Akufo-Addo for avoiding the presidential jet, has remained quiet about Mahama’s travel arrangements.

In a social media post, he highlighted concerns about potential conflicts of interest and financial implications.

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu clarified that the arrangement imposes no cost on taxpayers, as the jet was provided for free.

This debate follows Mahama’s arrival in Sierra Leone aboard his brother’s aircraft for an official visit, where he was welcomed by President Julius Maada Bio.

The trip is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.
