Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the NPP, criticized President Mahama. He claims the President has not fulfilled his 120-day social contract. Ahiagbah says Mahama is far from meeting his targets.
Speaking on The Pulse on JoyNews, Ahiagbah noted that the NDC made big promises before the elections. With less than 20 days left in the timeline, little progress has been made.
“He is not on track at all,” Ahiagbah stated. He compared what Mahama promised to what he has delivered so far. “It is minimal compared to what is outstanding,” he added.
Ahiagbah believes the NDC over-promised and now struggles to meet expectations. “They bit more than they could chew,” he said. He expects them to offer excuses until their term ends.
He emphasized that failing to meet the 120-day commitment shows a broken promise. “With 19 days remaining, they cannot deliver,” he said. “He’s failed Ghanaians in achieving these goals.”
Ahiagbah was critical of the NDC’s 24-hour economy policy and questioned its implementation. “Where is that? It is nowhere,” he remarked about their promises. He noted there are no budget provisions for this policy.
He described some of Mahama's achievements as "low-hanging fruit." Appointing ministers within 14 days does not show real leadership, according to him.
“What happened to banning galamsey in forest reserves?” he asked. Mahama promised to repeal certain laws but only amended them instead.
Ahiagbah also criticized the recent launch of the ‘One Million Coders’ program. He called it a last-minute effort to appear active.
“Yesterday, they hurriedly commissioned this program,” he said. He believes fulfilling commitments should have been prioritized instead of such initiatives. At this point, Mahama hasn’t completed even 50% of his promises.
