President John Mahama has directed a full investigation into two aircraft that landed in Ghana earlier in March and departed for Gran Canaria, Spain, on March 25.
His order follows concerns from the Minority in Parliament, who suspect the flights—a private jet and an air ambulance—may be linked to drug trafficking or money laundering.
Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Minority’s Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, alleged that the air ambulance, Air MED flight L823 AM, remained in Ghana for five days without transporting a patient.
He also questioned the presence of Antonov 12B, which arrived on March 12 and departed the same day as the air ambulance.
Mahama has urged security agencies to investigate the claims, stressing the need for transparency to protect Ghana’s aviation integrity.
