Mahama pledges to complete Kumasi Military Hospital

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to healthcare for military personnel and their families. He pledged to complete and furnish the Kumasi Military Hospital at Afari in the Central Command.

During a graduation ceremony at the Ghana Military Academy on April 11, he emphasized that armed forces welfare is a top priority. "Soldiers and civilian staff, your health is also a priority," he stated. He mentioned plans to upgrade medical facilities and complete the Kumasi Military Hospital. Additionally, there is a budget for a military field hospital in Tamale.

The President outlined efforts to strengthen support systems for active personnel and veterans. He noted that the government is enhancing working conditions and ensuring fair compensation. "I am determined to systematically improve your conditions of service," he said.

He highlighted GEHOC as key for sustainable financing for the Ghana Armed Forces. "Your sacrifices deserve recognition," he added. For retired personnel, he promised timely payment of retirement benefits.

His remarks received applause from high-ranking military officials, government representatives, and families of graduating cadets. President Mahama’s assurance is part of broader efforts to modernize the Ghana Armed Forces. He aims to ensure military personnel receive care and recognition for their service to the nation.
