President John Dramani Mahama has assured nursing trainees about their allowances. He announced this on Thursday, May 29. The event took place at the College of Health in Kintampo, Bono East Region.
Mahama stated that the minister has budgeted for these payments. "The allowances will be paid from January," he said. He also mentioned that trainees would receive their outstanding arrears.
He explained that delays were due to efforts to improve the payment system. The goal is to ensure consistent monthly payments through the Comptroller and Accountant General. This way, trainees will receive their allowances alongside workers' salaries.
Students and faculty reacted with excitement and relief. They welcomed the government's commitment to resolving their financial issues.
