Mahama re-appoints Dr Smith-Graham as FWSC CEO

President John Dramani Mahama has re-appointed Dr. George Smith-Graham as CEO of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC).

Dr. Smith-Graham previously held this position from 2009 to 2017. During that time, he helped implement the Single Spine Salary Structure. This structure is a key part of the FWSC Act, 2007 (Act 737).

His appointment follows Mr. Benjamin Arthur's leadership, which began in January 2022 and ended this week.

Dr. Smith-Graham's return comes at an important time. The government plans to transform the FWSC into an Independent Emoluments Commission.

With over thirty years of experience in compensation management and public service reforms, Dr. Smith-Graham is well-equipped for these changes.
