Mahama’s 120-day achievements are overstated – Elvis Darko

Elvis Darko, editor of The Newscenta, has challenged President John Dramani Mahama. He disagrees with the President's claim that his government fulfilled promises in 120 days. Darko called this assertion misleading.

On Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, he spoke on May 8. He argued that starting programs does not mean promises are delivered. “The 120-day contracts have not solved even 5% of our problems,” he said.

Darko noted that everyone in Ghana wants solutions to national issues. He explained that initiating processes is different from completing them. “Starting a process is one thing; how it pans out is another,” he added.

His comments followed President Mahama’s address on May 7. In this speech, the President listed achievements from his first 120 days. These included a Code of Conduct for political appointees and the cancellation of the betting tax.

Darko acknowledged these moves but emphasized they lack concrete results. He stated that launching reforms is just the beginning of governance, not the end.
