Nana Akomea, former NPP Communications Director, attributed John Mahama’s 2024 electoral victory to voter apathy among NPP supporters.
In an interview on Peace FM, Akomea noted Mahama's vote total was similar to 2020, suggesting no surge in NDC support.
He argued that over two million NPP supporters abstained, effectively handing the victory to the NDC.
Akomea dismissed claims that NPP voters defected to the NDC and called for an internal investigation into the low turnout.
He emphasized Mahama’s win resulted from NPP's internal issues rather than exceptional performance by the NDC.
