Mahama Sacks Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO Over Negligence Claims

President John Mahama has dismissed Dr. Adam Atiku, the CEO of Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH). This decision follows allegations of negligence linked to a patient's death.

Concerns have been rising about healthcare at TTH. Many essential medical devices are reportedly not working.

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh visited the hospital on April 22. His visit aimed to assess the challenges in healthcare delivery in the Northern Region.

During his visit, he expressed worry about idle medical machines. He noted that payments had been made to suppliers for these machines.

The Minister also addressed the ongoing water crisis in Tamale. He described it as a regional issue needing urgent presidential action.

Regarding equipment issues, Mr. Akandoh stated that solutions would depend on hospital management's priorities. He encouraged residents to continue using hospital services and assured them of improved care.

He emphasized teamwork in resolving these challenges, urging calm among residents as they work together for better healthcare delivery.
