President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in newly appointed members of the Armed Forces Council to provide strategic direction and oversight for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday, March 24, with members drawn from diverse professional backgrounds.

The council is responsible for advising the President on national defense matters, ensuring military discipline, and maintaining accountability to the civilian government.

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will serve as the Chairperson, leading the council’s efforts in strengthening security governance.

Other appointees include Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, Daniel Addo, Fuseini Iddrisu, and Nancy Dakwa Ampofo.

Their collective expertise is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the GAF and reinforce democratic principles within the military structure.
