President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in Patience Baffoe-Bonnie as the new Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, marking a significant leadership shift in the security sector.
Her appointment is part of a broader restructuring that also involves the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).
However, the induction of Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, acting Chief Fire Officer, and Samuel Basentale Amadu, acting Comptroller-General of GIS, has been postponed.
President Mahama attributed the delay to procedural differences in their appointment processes.
Their swearing-in will proceed once their respective service boards are fully constituted.
This leadership overhaul aims to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen key security institutions in Ghana.
