President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in new military commanders. They are now members of the Armed Forces Council.

The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defence. It was a moment to recommit to national security. It also showed confidence in the next generation of military leaders.

Major General William Agyapong is the new Chief of Defence Staff. He is joined by Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu as Chief of Army Staff. Rear Admiral Godwin Livinus Bessing serves as Chief of Naval Staff. Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong is the Chief of Air Staff.
