Mahama to set up inter-ministerial committee to implement economic dialogue recommendations

President John Mahama has announced plans for an inter-ministerial committee. This committee will ensure timely and transparent execution of recommendations from the 2025 National Economic Dialogue.

He spoke at the Jubilee House on June 4. This was during the official presentation of the Dialogue’s final report. President Mahama said an executive directive will be issued soon to establish this committee.

The inter-ministerial committee will coordinate all related government actions. It will include key ministries, civil society observers, and private sector representatives.

The President expects the committee to publish its final implementation bulletin by August 2025. He stated, "In the coming days, I will issue an executive directive establishing an inter-ministerial implementation committee."

President Mahama described the report as more than a policy blueprint. He said it represents a covenant between the government and citizens.

“The final report is a commitment between evidence and action,” he explained. He praised Ghanaians for trusting the dialogue process.

The President reaffirmed the government's commitment to implement reforms based on this report. “We will govern openly and prioritize national interest,” he stated.

The 2025 National Economic Dialogue included economists, business leaders, policymakers, and citizen groups. They discussed sustainable economic reforms to stabilize Ghana’s economy and restore growth.
