President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to establish a planning committee for the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.
Speaking at a fellowship with the clergy in Accra, he revealed that consultations with the Minister for Local Government and Religious Affairs would soon begin to facilitate the process.
Mahama had earlier declared July 1 as a National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, emphasizing its significance in fostering national unity and gratitude.
Addressing supporters in the Western Region, he cited scripture, urging Ghanaians to “give thanks in all things.”
The proposed committee will oversee preparations to ensure nationwide participation in the event, reinforcing the government’s commitment to faith and national cohesion.
