Mahama vows to construct Nkawkaw-Obomeng road to spur economic growth

President John Dramani Mahama has highlighted the urgent need for the Nkawkaw-Obomeng road. He believes it can unlock the socio-economic potential of the Kwahu area. It will also improve connectivity in the Eastern Region.

During a visit to Chief Nana Effah Opinamang III on Saturday, President Mahama discussed his past achievements in infrastructure. He mentioned completing the Nkawkaw-Atibie road as part of his administration's efforts.

He stressed that investing in roads and transport is vital for national development. "The Nkawkaw-Obomeng road promises growth for trade, tourism, and local businesses," he said. Mahama is committed to continuing infrastructure improvements across all regions.

He praised the entrepreneurial spirit of the Kwahu people. They are key contributors to Ghana’s economic progress. He specifically commended the launch of the Kwahu Business Forum, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises.

President Mahama reaffirmed his support for development initiatives. He emphasized that infrastructure projects drive economic growth and improve livelihoods.

Chief Nana Effah Opinamang III welcomed President Mahama warmly. He praised Mahama’s legacy of development-focused governance. The Chief called the Kwahu Business Forum a groundbreaking initiative for collaboration among industry players.

He noted that this forum enhances productivity, creates jobs, and improves living standards. The Chief also appreciated Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy and "Nkoko Nketekete" program as timely interventions for growth.

Nana Opinamang urged the government to prioritize rehabilitating the Begoro-Bepong road. Improving this road would ease congestion on the Accra-Kumasi highway during major travel periods like Easter festivities in Kwahu.

He concluded by urging policymakers to focus on infrastructure and inclusive development as essential for national transformation.
