Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has sued Rev. Ntim Fordjour.
Rev. Fordjour is a member of parliament for Assin Central. Dafeamekpor is seeking GHC30 million in damages for defamation.
The lawsuit stems from a post by Rev. Fordjour on May 8, 2025. In the post, he alleged that Dafeamekpor acted as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Subsidiary Legislation. He claimed that former National Signals Bureau boss Kwabena Adu-Boahene paid GH¢360,000 to the committee to pass a Legislative Instrument (L.I.).
Adu-Boahene stated that allowances of GH¢960,000 and GH¢309,000 were paid to MPs on two committees. Rev. Fordjour called for an investigation into Dafeamekpor and others.
Dafeamekpor denied these allegations, calling them “false, malicious, and defamatory.” He seeks a retraction and public apology from Rev. Fordjour.
Additionally, he wants an injunction to prevent further statements until the case concludes. The lawsuit claims he has suffered economic harm and emotional distress due to the defamatory statements.
It states that these statements are untrue and made with malice to portray him as corrupt. The suit demands an order restraining Rev. Fordjour from making further defamatory statements about Dafeamekpor.
It also requests an order for him to retract his previous statement posted online.
