A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows many people want the Chief Justice removed. This sentiment is strongest in the Western North and Bono regions. The Volta Region also shows significant support for her removal.
The survey took place from April 7 to 16, 2025. It included respondents from various backgrounds, including Junior High School leavers.
In the Western North and Bono regions, 82% of participants support removing the Chief Justice. In the Volta Region, 76% agree with this move. Meanwhile, 72% in Bono East also expressed similar sentiments.
Support continues with 70% in Oti Region backing the decision. In Savannah Region, 66% are in favor, while Greater Accra has 58%. Central Region shows 51% support for her removal.
In Eastern Region, 48% agree with the proposal. Upper West Region has slightly higher support at 49%. Northern Region sees lower backing at 45%, and North East has just 39%.
The Ahafo Region recorded only 20% support. The Ashanti Region follows with a mere 37%. The report indicates a clear regional divide in public opinion on this issue.
Meanwhile, MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah is challenging these removal attempts at the Supreme Court. He claims President John Mahama breached constitutional rules by referring petitions without notifying the Chief Justice.
On April 16, during their third appearance at court, the case was adjourned to May 6.
