President John Mahama has called on Muslims in Ghana to embrace peace during Ramadan.
He spoke at the Eid-Al-Fitr national event on March 31. The event took place at Black Star Square in Accra.
Mahama encouraged Muslims to seek peace with each other. He urged them to engage in dialogue with those they may disagree with.
"If you quarrel with someone during Ramadan, go make peace after Sala," he said.
The president highlighted that Ramadan is a time for fasting and reflection. It should not just be about avoiding celebrations.
"Ramadan is about more than abstaining from food and drink," he explained. "It’s a time for deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and kindness."
He added that this period encourages us to let go of bitterness. It also reminds us to practice patience, love, and humility.
