Mamponghene Daasebre Osei Bonsu II Passes Away

The Mampong Traditional Council (MTC) has announced the death of Daasebre Osei Bonsu II. He was the Mamponghene, or Paramount Chief, of the Mampong Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region.

On April 28, 2025, a delegation from the MTC informed Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II about his passing. The delegation was led by Mamponghemaa Nana Agyakoma Difie II. Ejurahene Barima Osei Hwedie II also joined this delegation.

Photos from their meeting at Manhyia Palace have surfaced online. They show a solemn atmosphere as they conveyed the sad news.

It is unclear when Daasebre Osei Bonsu II died. However, news of his passing became public on April 28, 2025.
