Mamprugu Overlord calls for urgent action to secure Bolgatanga-Bawku corridor

The Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, has made a plea. He urged the Government of Ghana to act quickly. This is to protect communities along the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Poulimakom corridor. Security concerns in the region are escalating.

In a strong statement read at a press conference, he spoke about Mamprugu. He described it as a realm of peace and honour. However, he warned that Bawku's situation threatens this stability.

He stressed the need for swift intervention to protect residents. This action aims to prevent further violence in the area. The Overlord also highlighted the importance of restoring Bawku as a commerce hub.

He noted that efforts must address rising terrorist threats. These threats affect Binduri, Pusiga, Garu, and Bawku West districts. He cautioned that these destabilising forces risk security across the entire northern corridor.

Effective measures must be taken to deal with these issues.
