**Court News**
A Circuit Court in Dansoman has issued a bench warrant for Abdallah Tijani. He is a 67-year-old travel and tour agent. Tijani is accused of defrauding food vendor Hajia Fati Yussif of $16,000.
Hajia Fati, from Alhaji-Tabora in Accra, claims Tijani took her money. He promised to arrange travel for her two sons to the United States. Since the case began on February 5, 2025, he has not appeared in court.
Tijani missed several court dates on February 5, 17, March 3, 20, and 24. His absence led Chief Inspector Christopher Wonder to request a bench warrant for his arrest.
**Allegations and Background**
Hajia Fati met Tijani through an acquaintance named Hajia Ayi in May 2023. Tijani assured her he could facilitate travel arrangements quickly. He claimed he had a package ready for two individuals traveling to the U.S.
He charged Hajia Fati $16,000 and convinced her that her sons would be included. She paid the full amount at his office in Nima, Accra.
After receiving the money, Tijani failed to deliver on his promise. Instead of arranging travel, he offered repeated excuses. When she asked for a refund, he refused to return her money.
Frustrated by the situation, Hajia Fati filed a police complaint on January 13, 2025. The police tracked down Tijani and arrested him on January 27. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to the offense.
**Legal Proceedings**
Tijani faces charges before Her Honour Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit in court. The bench warrant will remain active until he is arrested and brought to trial.
