Man sets lover’s house on fire after breakup request – Children severely burned

A shocking tragedy struck Axim in the Western Region when a 45-year-old man, Joseph Richard, allegedly set fire to his lover Betty Herman’s house after she attempted to end their relationship.

The fire, which broke out at dawn, left Betty’s two children, 16-year-old Joseph Ben and 13-year-old Richlove Asiedua Yeboah, with severe burns.

They have been transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for specialized treatment.

Eyewitnesses claim Richard deliberately started the fire, possibly influenced by threats from his mother. He is currently on the run, and residents are calling on the police to arrest him.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the case.
