Eric Dumenu Akatsi has filed a petition with CHRAJ. He is concerned about the dollar-splashing incident involving Sammy Gyamfi. Since filing on May 11, 2025, he has received threats to his life.
Mr. Akatsi reported receiving calls from unknown numbers. Some of these calls included direct threats and verbal abuse. He stated, “Some people are invoking insults and threats as though I committed a crime.”
His petition seeks an investigation into possible financial misconduct. This follows a viral video showing Mr. Gyamfi giving out dollars to Nana Agradaa. In the video, Mr. Gyamfi is seen in a luxury Range Rover while distributing cash.
Mr. Akatsi believes this display of wealth raises concerns about corruption. He noted significant sums in Mr. Gyamfi’s bank accounts as further evidence.
Despite public backlash, Mr. Akatsi insists his actions are not political. He feels it is his civic duty to demand accountability. “I have nothing against Sammy,” he said, emphasizing his right as a citizen.
He referenced Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution, which encourages citizens to report misconduct for the public good.
Despite the threats he faces, Mr. Akatsi trusts CHRAJ will handle the matter fairly and quickly. His petition requests a thorough investigation into Mr. Gyamfi’s bank account sources.
As of now, neither Sammy Gyamfi nor Goldbod has responded officially to the petition or its concerns.
