Manhyia South MP, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has strongly criticized the Attorney-General’s decision to withdraw high-profile corruption cases, questioning its impact on justice and accountability.
Speaking on Asaase Radio, Awuah argued that the Attorney-General, as both a legal and justice minister, must ensure transparency in cases of public interest.
He raised concerns over the withdrawal of criminal charges against the newly appointed Bank of Ghana Governor, calling it politically motivated.
He also took aim at the NDC government’s anti-corruption stance, accusing President Mahama of shielding party members.
Despite his concerns, Awuah dismissed the need for constitutional reforms, asserting that Ghana’s legal framework is sufficient if leaders act with integrity.
