Many people around Bawumia see him as a cash cow – Wontumi TV Journalist

Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a journalist at Wontumi TV, made strong claims about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He said many people around the NPP presidential candidate do not truly care for him. Instead, they see him as a way to make money.

Asiedu urged Dr. Bawumia to distance himself from these individuals. He emphasized that if the NPP does not act wisely, they will fail.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, he stated, “There are some people around Dr. Bawumia; Sir, do away with them.” He warned that if things don’t improve, it won’t just be about Bawumia or Kennedy Agyapong. It could involve other leaders like Nana Addo or J.A. Kufuor.

He noted that when Nana Addo began in 1996, his supporters wanted him to succeed for the party's sake. They focused on winning power rather than personal gain.

Today, Asiedu believes many around Dr. Bawumia only seek financial opportunities. He cautioned that some might even betray the party for profit.

He stressed that future NPP leadership should not be chosen based on wealth alone. “We need leaders who are not desperate,” he said. This way, they won't be easily swayed by material temptations.

Meanwhile, Patrick Yaw Boamah, MP for Okaikwei Central, expressed concerns about the NPP's values on live radio. He claimed the party has become more materialistic over time.

Boamah pointed out that the NPP used to support selfless individuals. Now, those who acquire wealth receive praise from party members.

He mentioned notable figures like Professor Adu Boahene and Kufuor were not wealthy when they entered politics.
