Legal expert Martin Kpebu has called for greater transparency in the Attorney-General’s decisions to discontinue cases, arguing that the public deserves clear justifications rather than opaque withdrawals.
Speaking on TV3, he cited the case of Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, where alleged political interference raised concerns about judicial integrity.
Kpebu also criticized the prolonged detention of Gregory Afoko, linking it to political vendetta.
He insisted that providing reasons for case withdrawals would strengthen democracy and prevent prosecutorial abuse. However, NDC Legal Director Edudzi Tamekloe countered that such disclosures could create unintended legal complications.
