Maurice Ampaw, a legal practitioner, has called for action against Sammy Gyamfi. He wants security agencies to freeze Gyamfi's bank accounts. He also urges an investigation into the source of Gyamfi's wealth. This follows a controversial video showing Gyamfi giving dollar notes to prophetess Nana Agradaa.
Ampaw raised concerns about Gyamfi’s financial dealings. He noted that Gyamfi lacks a traceable professional employment history. Ampaw believes the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) should audit Gyamfi’s lifestyle and finances.
“Legally, this behavior needs to be checked,” Ampaw stated on Wontumi TV. “We need to explain the unexplained wealth of Sammy Gyamfi.” He emphasized that Gyamfi's account should be frozen.
The lawyer questioned how someone with limited experience could give away so much money. He pointed out that Gyamfi has never worked at any law chamber.
In response to the backlash, Sammy Gyamfi addressed the controversy on Facebook. The viral video showed him handing out dollar notes, which drew criticism from many, especially within the NDC.
Gyamfi clarified his intentions in his statement. He described the act as a personal gesture of goodwill. “This was simply a kind gesture to a fellow human being,” he explained.
