Media tasked to intensify reports on malaria issues

The Africa Media and Malaria Research Network (AMMREN) urges media professionals to report more on malaria. They want malaria to stay a priority at both national and international levels.

This message was shared in a press statement by Dr. Charity Binka, AMMREN's Executive Secretary. The statement was sent to The Ghanaian Times on Friday. It coincided with World Malaria Day, celebrated under the theme, “Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.”

Dr. Binka emphasized that informed media can drive behavioral change. It can also promote preventive measures and hold stakeholders accountable.

AMMREN is committed to using media power alongside researchers and scientists. They aim to amplify community voices and highlight innovations. Their goal is to demand action for malaria elimination.
