Media urged to promote academic freedom in universities

The Regional Director of the African Coalition for Academic Freedom (ACAF), Professor Appiagyei-Atua, has made an important call. He urged the media to promote and protect academic freedom in Ghanaian universities.

Academic freedom is vital in higher education. It allows scholars and researchers to discuss and share information freely, without censorship.

Professor Appiagyei-Atua spoke at a media-training workshop in Accra. He highlighted the need for both academics and journalists to understand academic freedom.

The workshop focused on the theme: "Advocating for Academic Freedom."
