Ignite Media Group, the parent company of Metro TV, has released an official statement addressing a violent incident that occurred during the live broadcast of the Good Morning Ghana program.
According to the statement, an auctioneer identified as George Addo, accompanied by a court bailiff and armed policemen, stormed the studio premises at North Ridge, Accra, allegedly to execute a court order.
The attackers disrupted the live show, causing panic among staff and guests, and injuring a private security officer.
This marks the second time George Addo has targeted the media house, with a similar failed attempt last year involving Dr. Randy Abbey.
The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, intervened, restoring order and initiating an investigation into the incident while promising increased security for the station.
