Mike Oquaye report has put to bed propaganda on why we lost - Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He stated that the Mike Oquaye Committee's findings clarify the party's loss in the 2024 elections.

On April 23, at the NPP’s headquarters in Accra, Dr. Bawumia spoke before the party’s Thank You Tour. He noted that the report counters misinformation blaming individuals within the party.

“The Mike Oquaye Committee’s work has been thorough and impartial,” he said. “It has ended all propaganda following our electoral defeat. The truth is now clear to every committed party member.”

The committee, led by former Speaker of Parliament Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, reviewed the NPP's loss to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in December 2024.

Dr. Bawumia urged party members to support the report's recommendations. He emphasized unity and reform as essential for preparing for the future.

“This report is not about blame; it is about learning,” he explained. “We must rebuild with courage and honesty. The NPP has always overcome challenges.”

He acknowledged campaign teams and supporters, assuring them their efforts were valued.

The NPP’s Thank You Tour will start later this week. It aims to appreciate party faithful and supporters for their dedication during the election campaign.

Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to leading a united NPP ready to reclaim power in 2028.

“We are going back to thank people and renew our covenant of service,” he added.
