Minority Caucus donates GHS 200,000 to victims of Adum Blue Light market fire

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has helped victims of a fire. They donated GHS 200,000 to support affected traders at the Adum Blue Light Market in Kumasi.

The donation was presented during a brief ceremony in Kumasi. Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin expressed sympathy for the traders. Many lost their goods and livelihoods in the devastating blaze.

Mr. Afenyo-Markin urged the government to provide additional support. He noted that similar assistance was given after past disasters. He recommended using funds from the Contingency Fund for immediate relief.

“The government must show urgency and compassion,” he emphasized. Mr. Joseph Bobie Ansah, Chairman of the market traders, received the donation on behalf of those affected. He thanked the Minority Caucus for their timely help during this difficult time.

“We are deeply grateful for this support,” Mr. Ansah said. “It will ease the burden on our members who have lost everything.”

The gesture by the Minority Caucus has been welcomed as a sign of unity and concern for Ghanaians in crisis.
