Minority MPs March to Police HQ Over Delay in Ablekuma North Election Results

Minority Members of Parliament marched to the Ghana Police Headquarters today. They petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) about election results delays.

The MPs are frustrated with the Electoral Commission's inaction. It has been several months since the 2024 general elections. They believe this delay is a constitutional breach.

Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh led the march. He spoke to the media at the Police Headquarters. He urged police to protect the Electoral Commission (EC) from intimidation.

Annoh Dompreh stated that no declared MP for Ablekuma North violates representation rights. This right is guaranteed under the 1992 Constitution.

He noted that the EC's silence harms public trust in elections. The people of Ablekuma North currently lack representation in Parliament.

The Minority’s action reflects growing public concern about transparency. They demand that the EC declare results immediately, with police support. This would help restore confidence and uphold democratic rights for constituents.
