Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) majority in Parliament of using intimidation tactics against New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs.
Addressing the press on Monday, February 3, he described the NDC as “bullies” and alleged that their actions create an unsafe environment for the minority.
He cited a recent dispute during the Appointments Committee’s vetting process, where an initial agreement to assess three nominees was overridden by the NDC’s insistence on vetting five.
Additionally, he claimed NDC "foot soldiers" had physically assaulted NPP MPs.
Afenyo-Markin revealed that parliament police had been alerted and security measures were being strengthened.
He defended NPP MPs’ conduct during their recent protest, urging critics to examine video evidence.
