The Minority in Parliament has urged Speaker Alban Bagbin to act quickly. They want to ensure that interactions between lawmakers and security agencies follow the law.
This call comes after an attempted arrest of MP Reverend John Ntim Fordjour. The attempt was made by officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) yesterday.
The arrest is linked to investigations into drug trafficking and money laundering. These allegations involve two international flights that passed through Ghana in March 2025.
In a memo to the Speaker, the Minority expressed their concerns. Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh stated that NIB officials ignored proper procedures for engaging with MPs.
The Minority emphasized they will not be intimidated by this incident.
