The Minority in Parliament is calling for Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to be present in the House on Tuesday, March 18, to participate in the debate on the 2025 Budget.
Their request is based on Article 111 of the constitution, which permits the Vice President to engage in parliamentary proceedings. Okaikwei Central MP Patrick Yaw Boamah emphasized the importance of her contribution, particularly given her background in education and governance.
He argued that as Ghana’s first female Vice President, her insights on economic and financial policies should be heard.
The Business Committee has been urged to amend the Business Paper to allocate time for her participation in the crucial budget discussions.
