The Minority in Parliament has denied claims that court documents have been served on Akwatia MP Ernest Kumi, Speaker of Parliament, or the Clerk regarding the ongoing legal proceedings against the legislator.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what he described as a politically motivated move, recalling that some NDC members previously challenged a Supreme Court ruling but now demand respect for judicial decisions.
He argued that a pending application seeking to stay proceedings should have been considered before the substantive case, alleging that the judge ignored it.
Afenyo-Markin reaffirmed the Minority’s commitment to seeking justice through legal means while accusing the NDC of exploiting the case for political gain.
