Minority describes Mahama’s 120-day performance as ‘empty and cosmetic’

The Minority in Parliament has criticized President John Dramani Mahama’s 120-day performance report. They called it “empty and cosmetic.”

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin spoke at a press conference in Accra on Thursday morning. He said Mahama’s national address was a hollow display of self-congratulation. It does not reflect the realities faced by Ghanaians.

Afenyo-Markin stated, “The promises have collapsed, the excuses have run dry.” He added, “Let it be said plainly to every Ghanaian — you were sold a recycled failure.”

He accused Mahama's administration of betraying voters' trust. He urged citizens to defend the integrity of democracy. “Rise up to defend the Republic,” he implored Ghanaians.

The Minority Leader dismissed government claims of progress as superficial. He argued they lack depth and impact needed for real change.

President Mahama cited reforms like repealing controversial taxes and restructuring institutions as progress. However, Afenyo-Markin claimed these achievements do not address major issues. These include economic hardship, mass unemployment, and stalled governance reforms.
