Minority donates GH¢ 200k to victims of Adum PZ fire victims

The Minority Caucus in Ghana’s Parliament has donated GH¢200,000. This money will help victims of the recent fire at the Adum Blue Light Market in Kumasi.

The donation aims to provide immediate relief to affected traders. Many lost their goods and livelihoods in the devastating blaze.

A brief ceremony took place in Kumasi for this presentation. Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin led the delegation. He expressed deep sympathy for the affected traders.

Mr. Afenyo-Markin acknowledged the emotional and financial toll of the incident. He emphasized the need for solidarity during crises. The Minority Caucus could not stand by while others suffered.

He urged the government to use its Contingency Fund for swift assistance. Mr. Afenyo-Markin stressed that urgent action is needed to restore hope.

“The government must act with urgency and compassion,” he said.

Mr. Joseph Bobie Ansah, Chairman of the market traders, received the donation on behalf of his colleagues. He thanked the Minority Caucus for their timely support.

“This help is crucial for our recovery,” he stated. “We are deeply grateful; it eases our burden.”

The fire destroyed several stalls and merchandise, leaving many traders in despair. The donation offers a glimmer of hope as victims start to rebuild their lives.

Calls for government action are increasing among stakeholders. They emphasize a need for a coordinated response to such disasters.
