The Minority in Parliament is firmly against the Electoral Commission's proposal to make the Ghana Card the sole identity document for voter registration.

They argue that the move would disenfranchise eligible voters who have not yet received the card.

Despite claims from the Executive Secretary of the NIA, Kenneth Attafuah, that a significant number of Ghanaians have been registered, the Minority insists that no changes should be made until every eligible voter has been issued a Ghana Card, emphasizing that voting is a constitutional right that must not be obstructed.
