Mion Lana’s final funeral rites slated for May 23-30th

The Dagbon traditional area in the Northern Region is preparing for a farewell. They will honor the late Mion Lana, Naa Abdulai Mahamadu III. His funeral rites are scheduled from May 23 to May 30, 2025.

Naa Abdulai Mahamadu III passed away on August 16, 2022. He died in Accra at the age of 48 after a short illness.

He became Mion Lana just three years before his death. This role is significant within the Dagbon traditional setup.

His passing caused widespread grief across Dagbon and beyond. Many remember him for his dignified leadership and dedication to unity.
