MoFA, ARB Apex Bank sign $1m revolving fund for nutrition project

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture and ARB Apex Bank have signed an agreement. This agreement is for a $1 million revolving fund. It will be managed under the Food and Nutrition Security Resilience Project.

The project is funded by the Global Agriculture and Food Security Programme (GAFSP). The total funding amounts to $20 million. Its goal is to improve food and nutrition security in the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone.

The project will be implemented in 12 districts across six regions. These regions are Northern, Savannah, North East, Upper West, Upper East, and Oti. It focuses on strategic investments for maximum impact.

On Wednesday, the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku, signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Accra. He pledged to enhance food production in the five northern regions. This commitment follows a challenging farming season marked by drought.
