Mobile Money Agents across Ghana are calling for urgent government intervention following the tragic killing of agent Patricia Nimako in the Ashanti Region.

The Mobile Money Agents Association has expressed deep sorrow over her death, warning that rising armed robbery attacks are endangering their members.

In a February 14 statement, the association urged authorities to enhance security, increase police patrols, and collaborate with telecom firms to improve safety measures.

They also called for regular security training to help agents protect themselves.

Beyond policies and revenue collection, they stressed the need for a firm government commitment to their safety.

Agents have been advised to avoid resistance during robberies to prevent further loss of life.

The association insists that collective action is needed to curb the escalating threat.
