Mobile Money Limited is intensifying its fight against fraud. The company blocks over 400,000 scam text messages daily. This information comes from Chief Risk and Compliance Officer Godwin Tamakloe.
On May 2, Tamakloe spoke on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV. He explained that advanced security filters detect suspicious SMS messages. These filters intercept the messages before they reach users.
Tamakloe stated, “We have a system that blocks SMS to customers.” He added that attacks can come via SMS, links, or calls. The system blocks messages based on certain words.
He also addressed public concerns about insider fraud. Tamakloe denied these claims, assuring customers of their safety. Service personnel do not have access to PINs or confidential details.
In response to victims sharing their experiences online, he urged transparency. He encouraged victims to provide accurate accounts of scams. Honest feedback helps trace fraudulent operations and protects others.
As mobile money fraud becomes more sophisticated, vigilance is crucial. Tamakloe emphasized the need for systemic protection and informed customers.
