Mobile money transactions hit GHC365bn in April 2025

Ghana's mobile money ecosystem saw a big rise in April 2025. The total value of transactions reached GHC 365.0 billion. This is according to the latest data from the Bank of Ghana.

This amount is a 3.8% increase from March's GHC 351.7 billion. It is also the highest monthly value this year. This shows that more people are using mobile financial services for personal and business needs.

The number of mobile money transactions also increased in April. It rose from 764 million in March to 778 million in April. This growth highlights how important mobile money is for financial inclusion and digital payments.

The data shows steady growth in mobile money usage. Factors include rising mobile penetration, agent network expansion, and convenience of mobile platforms. Analysts believe this trend will continue as Ghana’s digital economy grows and regulatory support remains strong.
