The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMET) has released a weather forecast. This forecast is valid from 6 a.m. today, May 30, 2025. It predicts varied weather conditions across the country.
This morning, mist and fog may form in coastal, mountainous, and forested areas. Light rains could occur in both coastal and inland locations.
As the day goes on, most of Ghana will see sunny weather. This will provide some relief from the early morning dampness.
However, by late afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are expected. Rain of varying intensities will affect many regions including the coastal belt and northern parts.
City-specific forecasts include:
- Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast: Morning rain with possible thunderstorms. Sunny breaks in the afternoon lead to mostly cloudy skies in the evening. Temperatures will range from 25°C to 31°C.
- Takoradi and Axim: Mostly cloudy with chances of thunderstorms later in the day. Temperatures will be around 26°C to 30°C.
- Kumasi and Obuasi: Partly cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine during the day. Thunderstorms are expected in the evening with temperatures between 26°C and 33°C.
- Northern cities (Tamale, Yendi, Bolgatanga): Partly cloudy skies with afternoon sunshine followed by evening thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 25°C to 35°C.
- Koforidua, Akim Oda, Ho: Expect misty mornings with a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
GMET advises residents in affected regions to take precautions against possible thunderstorms and heavy rains later today.
