The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has postponed its planned strike, originally scheduled for October 10, to demand better working conditions.
This comes after the expiration of a two-week ultimatum given to the government on October 9.
MOWAG's demands include adequate personal protective equipment (PPE), payment of outstanding salary arrears, and recruitment of 500 more workers.
General Secretary Richard Kofi Jordan criticized the government for delaying, warning that the strike could be rescheduled soon.
He emphasized that the association will take strategic action to ensure their concerns are addressed.
