My ministry doesn’t need GH₵78m; allocation is for state agencies – Kwakye Ofosu

In a recent statement, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, George Andah Kwakye Ofosu, clarified that his ministry does not require the GH₵78 million allocation outlined in the 2024 budget. He emphasized that this funding is intended for various state agencies rather than his department directly. During a media briefing, Ofosu highlighted that the financial resources would support initiatives across multiple entities involved in enhancing digital infrastructure and services in Ghana.

He assured stakeholders that although his ministry plays a crucial role in driving digital transformation, it will strategically collaborate with other government bodies to maximize the impact of these funds. Ofosu's comments come amid ongoing discussions regarding budget allocations and their effectiveness in fostering developmental goals. By redirecting attention to state agencies tasked with implementing specific projects, he aims to underline a collaborative approach to governance and resource management. This clarification seeks to alleviate concerns about potential misallocation while reinforcing the commitment to advancing Ghana’s digital landscape through coordinated efforts across government sectors.
