My pastors are praying, and many Ghanaians are calling on me to run for president – Adutwum

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the former Minister of Education, has shared some news. He said his pastors are praying for him. Many Ghanaians are urging him to run for president.

Adutwum previously hinted at running for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer position. This is ahead of the 2028 general elections. He made this announcement on social media platform X.

In his post, he wrote, “In the silence of the noise, one man’s record speaks louder than mere campaign chants.” He emphasized that one man’s impact resonates across every region in Ghana.

He believes his vision can transform Ghana completely. Adutwum positioned himself as the party's best chance for electoral victory. His post has since been deleted but featured a bold image stating: “The Adutwum Factor: The NPP’s surest bet for victory 2028.”

He also mentioned he would address Ghanaians about his presidential intentions at the right time. Speaking to UTV, he said, “My pastors are praying, and many Ghanaians are calling on me to run for president.”

However, reactions from Ghanaians have varied. Some expressed skepticism about his potential candidacy. One user commented that height and looks do not guarantee good leadership.

Another netizen noted divisions within the party and warned against them. They mentioned that these three candidates might not be the only ones contesting in upcoming elections.

A third user criticized Adutwum's past actions as Minister of Education. They accused him of misleading the public about free SHS enrollment numbers.

Overall, opinions on Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum's possible presidential run remain mixed among Ghanaians.
