NACOC intercepts 73 slabs of suspected cocaine bound for the Netherlands, 4 arrested

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) intercepted a large shipment of suspected cocaine. This occurred at the Swiss Port in Tema, Greater Accra. The interception happened during a routine inspection on Wednesday, April 23, 2024.

Officials reported that the cargo was being prepared for shipment to the Netherlands. It contained concealed substances believed to be cocaine.

A total of seventy-three slabs were seized. These slabs weighed approximately 89.74 kilograms.

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with this attempted shipment. They are currently in NACOC custody as investigations continue. Authorities are looking into the origin, ownership, and intended recipients of the illegal cargo.
